Everyone needs to try the food here - their new award winning chef is incredible - ignore Sara Review what she is doing is slander - she claims she's goes weekly but the food is so bad she went back many times , she then thought well the chefs so bad I'm going to try his other restaurant where she claimed she didn't last 3 minutes but can give a detailed description of every inch of the venue including dish's , toilet paper and more ..... 2 hours waiting for a meal . Ordered when not busy kitchen staff milling around bored. Then other tables filled with their orders coming out before ours. Query staff and reply was soon. Crispy pork belly was like rubber, the fish was not edible. Noisy and unpleasant atmosphere.
Since having Chris Hassan take over as head chef, the menu and food quality has increased dramatically. A year ago the steak quality was below average, not the quality of meat or cooking style you would pay up to $50 for. Now the meat quality is premium, providing you with a delicious array of flavour. No matter if you were after a premium dish or classic pub meal, this new menu has the best choices for you. The Great Western Hotel have made an excellent investment in having this well known Chef on board! Look Out!
The restaurant at the Great Western Hotel has really stepped up, the meals here are something you don’t usually find in a pub. I had the pork belly with jus, and it was absolutely outstanding - perfectly cooked, tender, and full of rich flavour. The new chef, Chris, is clearly a renowned talent who’s brought amazing expertise and creativity to the menu. You can really taste the difference. A fantastic dining experience in a relaxed, friendly setting - highly recommend!
Beer is cold. Staff are great . BUT need to be open longer for meals especially during the day or at least some type of light snacks in the Bar More than just peanuts & chips.. So many other pubs have all day dinning Cheers guys
