My wonderful experience during my recent visit. The grilled Bara was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes were generous, something that seems hard to find these days. The outside decor of the shop caught my attention as I was driving by, which prompted me to stop, and I'm so glad I did. First time customer to this shop. The seafood was cooked very well with a nice thin & crispy batter. The chips were also good as well. The shop is right across the road from Austinmer beach & we were fortunate to be able to grab table right opposite the shop. It probably helped that we were eating a little late being around 2pm & the sea breeze was a little chilly
Some of the best chip's I've ever had. Staff were amazing. Despite being about to close in 5 minutes, they still took our order. Awesome beach across the road. Though you do need to be careful, the seagulls will steal your food 😆
Best fish and chips I've had in years! Friendly service, great music and the bacon and egg roll is the best my husband has ever eaten. Can't wait to go back next holidays! 😀
Since the new owner took over the quality has gone down and the prices more than doubled.I ordered a hamburger and a milkshake which was $30. There was no chicken salt on the chips and no tomato sauce in the burger and the milkshake was warm. I won’t visit it again after seven years of really good service. The place has gone downhill and it’s got quieter because the prices are now higher So no more visits to Shells Diner I’m sorry
